Audi e-tron

The Audi A3 e-tron technology platform is an all-rounder for everyday urban driving and offers a glimpse at possible production solutions. The compact model has a purely electric drive system. A powerful electric motor and a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery ensure agile performance and an impressive range.

The A3 e-tron has a range of roughly 140 kilometers on a fully charged battery, which in most cases is more than enough to meet daily needs in urban metropolitan areas. The electric-powered compact car produces zero local emissions and is very agile. The sprint to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) takes 11.2 seconds, with the 60 km/h (37.28 mph) mark reached in just 5.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically governed at 145 km/h (90.10 mph).

Unlike some electric vehicles from the competition, the A3 e-tron technology platform is perfectly suited for everyday driving and demands no compromises from the driver. This is a tribute to the holistic philosophy taken by Audi as it develops the mobility of the future. The vehicle's technical solutions have good prospects of being used in future production vehicles.

The Audi e-tron Spyder features what is without a doubt the most advanced and simultaneously the most consistent evolution of the current Audi design language, while also providing initial hints at the design language of future Audi sports cars. It reinterprets the most important design elements that already characterized the previous e-tron concept vehicles.

This also ensures the necessary formal differentiation to the purely electric-powered Audi e-tron shown at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show. The two-seater is equipped with a 300-hp twin-turbo V6 TDI at the rear axle and two electric motors producing a total of 64 kW at the front axle. The Audi e-tron Spyder's low total weight of 3,196 lbs combined with the high-torque TDI and the two electric motors results in respectable performance. The car accelerates to 60 in less than 4.5 seconds, and top speed is electronically governed at 155 mph.
